What to Expect

My goal during our consultation is to listen carefully to your situation, give you space to share what's on your mind, and help you leave with a clearer idea of where you stand and what steps might come next. I know this process can feel overwhelming — I'm here to make it a little easier.

Your consultation includes a careful review of your immigration history, a discussion of potential strategies, and time for you to ask questions about your options.

Consultations for Detained Individuals

Consultations for detained individuals are conducted by phone or video only. If your loved one is currently detained by ICE, I'll first conduct a pre-screening call with you (or another trusted contact) to gather background information. Then I'll speak directly with the detained person by phone or video through the detention facility before finalizing any legal strategy.

Please note: Detention facilities may take several days to confirm a consultation. I'll be diligent in scheduling the meeting and will keep you informed. If you'd prefer not to wait or if the consultation cannot be completed, your fee will be refunded.

Before Your Consultation

Once your consultation is confirmed, please share any relevant documents before your appointment — you can upload them directly through your intake form or email them to intake@pichardolaw.com, whichever you're more comfortable with. Include your full name so your documents can be matched to your booking. Having your documents ahead of time allows me to make the most of our time together and give you clearer guidance on your options. Please note that I'm only able to review documents for consultations that have already been confirmed.

What to Send

If you have lost records from a previous case, requesting copies from immigration agencies is something I can assist with as a separate service if you retain me.

Payment & Cancellations

Consultation fees are due at booking. Appointments may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, cannot be refunded.

Language

I'm fluent in English and Spanish. If you're more comfortable in another language, you're welcome to have someone you trust join our consultation to help interpret — I want to make sure we can communicate clearly.
